Door Sensors, Switches & Accessories
Supply and installation of door sensors, activation switches, and all related hardware and accessories for commercial doors across MD, DC & Northern VA.
The small parts that run the whole door
The most important components on an automatic entrance are the ones nobody looks at. A sensor the size of a paperback decides whether the door opens for a customer. A wall switch decides whether a delivery driver with full hands can get through. A safety sensor decides whether the door stops before it touches someone. When these small parts fail, a perfectly good door turns unreliable overnight, and the fix is almost never a new door. It is the right sensor or switch, supplied and installed correctly.
That is this service. A&S Door LLC supplies and installs door sensors, activation switches, and all related hardware and accessories, as part of being fully equipped for all commercial door needs. You do not have to identify the part, source it, or find someone willing to install a component they did not sell. One call covers all three.
When is it the sensor and not the door?
A useful rule of thumb: if the door moves smoothly when it does move, the mechanical side is probably fine and the decision making side is the suspect. Doors that open for passing cars but not approaching customers, doors that hold open long after the doorway clears, ghost openings at 3 AM on the security footage, and push switches that need three presses are all sensor and switch problems wearing a door costume.
We diagnose which it is instead of guessing. If it is the sensor, we supply and install the replacement. If it turns out the operator itself is failing, that flows into our automatic door service, and if the problem lives in the wiring or access control, our electrical work covers it. Same company, same visit where possible, same day or 24 to 48 hour turnaround as always.
And because a door that will not sense anyone is sometimes a door that will not open at all, the emergency service line applies here too when an entrance is fully down.
Sensor and switch questions, answered
The parts of the door most people cannot name, explained.
What do door sensors and activation switches actually do?
They are the nervous system of an automatic door. Activation sensors and switches tell the door when to open, whether that is a motion sensor above the entrance or a push button on the wall. Safety sensors watch the doorway and keep the door from closing on a person or a cart. When any of them drifts out of adjustment or fails, the door starts behaving badly even though the mechanical parts are fine.
Do you supply the parts or do I have to source them myself?
We supply and install. This service exists so you do not have to figure out which sensor, switch, or accessory fits your door system. Describe the door and the problem, and we bring the right hardware and put it in.
My automatic door opens for no reason or stops opening at all. Is that a sensor problem?
Very often, yes. Ghost openings usually mean an activation sensor is picking up motion it should ignore, and a door that ignores real customers usually has a failed or misaimed sensor. Both are exactly what this service handles, and if the fault turns out to be deeper in the operator or wiring, our automatic door and electrical services pick it up in the same visit.
What accessories can you add to an existing commercial door?
All related hardware and accessories for commercial door systems: activation switches, sensors, and supporting door hardware. If there is a piece of equipment your doorway is missing, ask. Between this service and our locksmith, electrical, and door work, the answer is usually that we can supply and install it.
Door acting possessed?
It is probably a sensor. We will bring the right one.
